Our s&c philosophies

We use a long-term athlete development (LTAD) approach. This framework is designed for optimal training, competition, and recovery that is individualised for each athlete. CAP Strong is designed for continual improvement over time, rather than immediate results and instant gratification. Athletes will have the tools and experience to last a life time.

In the game of basketball, skill is king. However, when athletes don’t have the quality of movement and the optimal strength to perform those skills fluidly and confidently in game play, overall skill development is hindered. We prioritise the skill of moving better rather than the actual skill itself.

Within this program, a by-product is the development of mental toughness, resilience and leadership skills. This equips athletes with the tools and strategies needed to deal with the inevitable adversity basketball presents. This program puts athletes in positions to develop a sense of accountability and responsibility within themselves but also demand it from one another as a team.
